Parking at Our Marinas: A Quick Update

Following last year’s upgrade to parking meters at Havelock, Picton and Waikawa Marinas, we’ve made a further change to simplify things even more.

The old cash honesty boxes have now been repurposed across all three marinas as parking information points, making it easier to find clear guidance on how to pay and where to park. This change also supports our ongoing efforts to reduce waste and make better use of existing infrastructure wherever possible.

A reminder of what’s new

Our modern parking meters were installed to make parking quicker and more user-friendly, with:

  • Intuitive touchscreen displays
  • Additional meters in busy areas to reduce walking distances
  • Faster, smoother experience for boat ramp users

Each marina now has one cash-accepting meter, so if you’re planning to pay with cash, just head to the clearly marked unit.

We’ve also introduced two hours of free parking at Waikawa and Havelock Marinas — perfect for visitors stopping in at local cafés, shops or services. Simply enter your vehicle registration at any meter to activate your free time.

The easiest way to pay: PayMyPark

For the most convenient experience, we strongly recommend using the PayMyPark app.

With PayMyPark, you can:

  • Pay quickly without visiting a meter
  • Extend your parking time remotely from your phone
  • Avoid rushing back to your vehicle if you’re still out on the water

It’s especially handy for boaties — if your trip runs longer than expected, you can top up your parking without leaving your spot on the water.

Download PayMyPark for free from the Apple App Store or Google Play and you’re ready to go.

Updated parking maps and meter locations are available on our website, Launching and Parking – Marlborough Marinas and the new information points at each marina will guide you through your options.
