It’s surprisingly easy to find yourself a world away: come summer or winter, this luxurious retreat is a sanctuary in every sense where guests can relax, escape the everyday, and discover the exceptional.

Whether you arrive by boat or by air, you will soon find yourself in a secluded location, in the heart of the Marlborough Sounds, nestled between the bush and the sea. The resort invites you to immerse yourself in our pristine natural setting offering an array of activities including bush walks, bird and marine wildlife watching, kayaking and paddleboarding. When night falls the stars come alive under the unpolluted sky and titiwai (glow worms) can be seen. The helpful staff are more than happy to organise charters such as wine tours, eco cruising or even swimming with dolphins.

This beautiful, luxury eco-lodge has two dining options: the casual Kumatage lounge, and for a little more formality The Foredeck restaurant, which serves delicious three-course lunches and a five-course degustation dinner menu. Each restaurant provides delicious local, seasonal produce and a beautiful selection of regional wine, beer and spirits.

Both restaurants welcome casual guests but booking is essential.

The Miritu Day Spa at Bay of Many Coves offers treatments to both in-house guests and to casual guests wanting to spend a day in the bay. Their treatments are inspired by indigenous and European cultures, using locally sourced products and native botanical extracts and can be booked in advance here

Getting there

Located in Arthurs Bay in the Queen Charlotte Sound access is only possible via boat, air our along the Queen Charlotte Hiking Track.

Arrive in your own boat and make use of their nine private moorings right in front of the resort. All moorings are secure 3 tonne blocks and the resort is well sheltered from the prevailing winds. The resort tender will deliver you to and from your vessel and are contactable on VHF channel 63. A selection of water taxis and charters are available from Picton Marina.

A variety of Helicopter companies operate within the region, there are helicopter transfers available between the Resort and Wellington, Nelson/Abel Tasman area and Blenheim / Marlborough. The vast and intriguing coastline that comprises the Marlborough Sounds can be fully appreciated from above.
