Spring Twilight Series – Race 4 report

The Marlborough Sounds Marinas Spring Twilight series’ race 4

The light winds at the start disappeared completely changing a possible Division 2 win for Bump n Grind as they were passed within 15 metres of the finish line by 3 other boats including division winners Rob and171048 Mandy Carpenter with Freaky – a great result being its third outing!

Division 1 suffered greatly from the winds disappearing act with only 3 out of the 13 yachts finishing in the time allowed.  The light sport boat Honk n Jack skippered by Nick Gardiner finished 4 minutes ahead of nearest rival Satellite Spy (Matt Kerr) with Northern Rebel (Ash Davey) 8 minutes further back. Satellite Spy is 6 points ahead of Northern Rebel in the series  results.

Crossfire 3 owned and skippered by Bryce Ecklein claimed the win in Division 3 with Sea Fox (Bruce Lock) 2nd and Entertainer (Mark Altoft) in 3rd.  Giving Entertainer just enough points to lead the series standings in Division Three.

171070

With 6 races to go in the series and 2 discards allowed the final results are anyone’s guess !
