An exciting weekend of sailing is on the horizon!

Waikawa Boating Club located in Waikawa Marina, are hosting their annual New Years Regatta this weekend. First held in 1948, the event has grown to become the biggest event on the club’s calendar and is a major drawcard for boats from around New Zealand to join us in the beautiful Marlborough Sounds every summer.

17 boats will be competing in 3 divisions; Club Racing around marker buoys, Harbour Division Non Spinnaker and Harbour Division Spinnaker.

If you can’t get out on the water but would like to get a peek at the action, Karaka Point along Port Underwood Road is a great spot to watch the crews battle it out. Race times are as follows:

Friday 10th start time 17:50 – sponsored by New Zealand King Salmon

Saturday 11th start time 10:30am – sponsored by Aon

Sunday 12th start time 10:30am – sponsored by Marlborough Sounds Marinas
